Common barberry (Berberis vulgaris) is a bush, which grows in the nature near forests, shrubs and by the roads, its decorative varieties are grown in gardens and parks. Its red berries have a tart flavour and contain various beneficial nutrients. Among other uses, the berries are used to make jams, beverages and confectionery products.
